How Kanata Mews turned untapped non-OHIP demand into a predictable private-pay pipeline
Non-OHIP residents in Ottawa were actively searching for primary care, but no one was capturing their intent. We built a repeatable non-OHIP demand capture system that routes searchers to a dedicated non-OHIP flow with walk-in and appointment options, turning latent demand into a predictable private-pay pipeline.

Non-OHIP residents in Ottawa were actively searching for primary care, but there was no clear path built for them. Visitors, international students, and work permit holders were ready to act; the problem was a missing pathway that met their intent at search and guided them to care.
We built a repeatable non-OHIP demand capture system that meets people at search and moves them into a private-pay path designed for speed and clarity.
The path starts with an ad click to a dedicated non-OHIP home. From there patients choose Get care now or Learn more. The outcome is predictable: walk in during posted hours or book the next available appointment within 2 to 3 days. Our goal was simple and specific: one non-OHIP path from search to visit that the clinic can operate smoothly.

Kanata Mews Clinic - Front Desk - 2025
One dedicated non-OHIP pathway from search to visit.
-
Dedicated non-OHIP site version. Focused menu and pages that speak only to non-OHIP needs. Two primary actions on every key screen: Get care now and Learn more.
-
High-precision demand capture. Google Ads configured to route 95 percent plus of non-OHIP intent into this pathway, with ongoing negative keyword tuning and query pruning.
-
Fast-action page for Get care now. Clinic address, Google Maps embed, walk-in hours, and a link to book the next available slot in 2 to 3 days.
-
Learn more path. Clinic overview with social proof, then a Guidelines page that sets expectations and answers common concerns, followed by the same directions and booking options.
-
Clinic-hosted booking. Simple, low friction booking built and hosted by the clinic, with payment and other details handled at the appointment.
-
Non-OHIP phone line. A dedicated number with a smart workflow so only non-OHIP inquiries ring through, keeping management light.
-
Optimization loop. Event and conversion data feed back into the ads for continuous improvement.
-
Helpful touches. Appointment reminders and a streamlined check-in flow that reduce confusion and no-shows.

Landing Page of the new non-OHIP flow.
We packaged the pathway into short SOPs, ran a brief launch meeting with staff and management, and turned it on.
The result was a low friction, targeted, low cost, low management, highly profitable, patient centered system. Staff follow a simple playbook. Patients experience a clear path with no extra steps.
The private-pay system unlocked and stabilized growth. Monthly revenue rose from 13k to 19.7k, a 6.7k increase based on monthly averages comparing the year without the system to the most recent year with it. Every intake now follows the same path from search to the dedicated non-OHIP site to visit or booking, with conversion events captured for ongoing optimization.
What's next
The system will continue to self-optimize as more event and conversion data accrue. Next steps include expanding high-intent keyword coverage, testing additional Ottawa neighborhoods with high non-OHIP density, scaling during peak travel and enrollment periods, introducing select higher-ticket services within the same pathway, A/B testing page variants to lift conversion, and cloning the system to similar clinics. This compounds growth while keeping control and operating overhead low.

"We have five times more premium-care inquiries. Game changer.”

Dr. Kareem A.
Physician and Clinic Manager
Ottawa has a large population of non-OHIP residents actively searching for care, yet their intent was going uncaptured. The clinic partnered with us to build a repeatable demand-capture system that meets searchers at intent and routes them into a clear private-pay path to care.
Despite strong intent, generic site journeys and manual triage left gaps in access and revenue. Missed searchers became missed visits, and the digital experience failed to clarify eligibility, expectations, or next steps. They needed a streamlined flow that captures intent, orients patients quickly, and converts interest into walk-ins and near-term bookings without adding operational complexity.
We implemented a dedicated non-OHIP journey that intercepts search, clarifies the offer, and connects patients to immediate care or the next available appointment within days. With the system live, the clinic stopped chasing demand and started catching it as non-OHIP visits and private-pay bookings rose. The sections below unpack the system and the results.
